Terms and Conditions for Emergency, Muster, and Facility Text Notifications

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your receipt of text message notifications (also referred to as "SMS messages" or "text alerts") from NIWC Atlantic ("we," "us," or "our") related to emergencies, muster events, and important facility information. By opting in to receive these text message notifications, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully. 

1. Opting In and Out 

• Opt-In: You can opt in to receive these text message notifications by providing your mobile phone number and expressly consenting to receive such communications. You may be asked to confirm your opt-in by replying with a specific keyword (e.g., "YES") to a confirmation message. 
• Opt-Out: You can opt out of receiving these text message notifications at any time by: 
  • Replying with "STOP" to any text message received from us. 
  • ​Texting "STOP" to (844) 900-2933.

2. Types of Text Message Notifications

You will receive text message notifications regarding:

• Emergency Notifications: Time-sensitive alerts about imminent threats to health and safety, including but not limited to severe weather events, fires, evacuations, and security incidents. 
• Muster Events: Instructions and updates regarding designated assembly points and procedures during emergencies or drills. 
• ​Facility Information: Important updates and announcements related to facility closures, service disruptions, security protocols, and other relevant information. 

3. Message Frequency 

We will only send text message notifications regarding emergencies, muster events, and facility information when necessary. While we strive to limit messages to essential updates, the frequency may vary depending on the situation.  

4. Message and Data Rates May Apply  

Your mobile carrier's standard message and data rates may apply to text message notifications you receive from us. You are solely responsible for any charges incurred from your mobile carrier. Please contact your mobile carrier for details about your specific plan and rates. 

5. Your Information 

We will only use your mobile phone number to send you the text message notifications described in these Terms. We will not share your mobile phone number with any third parties for marketing purposes without your consent. Please review our Privacy Policy (below) for more information about how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. 

6. Your Consent  

You represent that you are 18 years of age or older and have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms. If you are under the age of 18, you may not opt in to receive these text message notifications without the consent of a parent or legal guardian. You further represent that you are the account holder for the mobile phone number you provide or that you have the account holder's permission to use this service.  

7. Disclaimer 

These text message notifications are provided as a convenience and are not intended to replace primary communication channels during emergencies. Always follow the instructions and guidance provided by authorized personnel. We cannot guarantee the availability or reliability of the text message notification system.  

8. Changes to These Terms  

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make any material changes, we will notify you by text message or by posting a notice on our website. Your continued use of this service following the posting of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
