NIWC Atlantic hosts Black History Month Celebration
On Tuesday, Feb. 20, NIWC Atlantic hosted a 90-minute celebration paying tribute to the many African Americans who have made contributions in the arts promoting and celebrating diversity, inclusion and accessibility for all Americans. The event featured guest speaker Professor Damon Fordham, history professor at the Citadel and Charleston Southern University; singer Jasmine January with her rendition of “I am Here,” from the musical “The Color Purple;” and the T.R.U.T.H Dance Group, with a liturgical dance to Kirk Franklin’s “More Than I Can Bear.”
