Direct Hire Authority (DHA) for Students at Science and Technology Reinvention Labs (STRL) allow agencies to hire students enrolled in a Scientific, Technical, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) course of study at an accredited institution of higher education on a temporary or term basis.
The Pathways Internship Program is designed to provide students enrolled in a wide variety of educational institutions, from high school to graduate level, with opportunities to work in agencies and explore Federal careers while still in school. Students who successfully complete the program may be eligible for conversion to a permanent job in the civil service.

The Science and Engineering Apprenticeship Program (SEAP) provides an opportunity for students to participate in research at a Department of Navy (DoN) laboratory during the summer. Participating students spend 8 weeks during the summer doing research. Program dates are fixed and cannot be changed. No travel/relocation allowance will be provided.

SMART offers scholarships for undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students currently pursuing a degree in one of the 24 STEM disciplines.
