NIWC Atlantic provided materials to build playing fields and judged over 40 students at the Regional SeaPerch Competition that took place at the North Charleston Aquatic Center. SeaPerch is an innovative underwater robotics program that equips teachers and students with the resources to build an underwater Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) as well as teaches important engineering and design skills and introduces students to various naval architecture and naval, ocean, and marine engineering careers. The SeaPerch ROV’s were judged on vehicle performance, innovative design, oral team presentation, design evaluation and building documents, which include planning, construction testing, and learning.
