CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic is hosting its annual Palmetto Cybersecurity & STEM Camp from July 6-10 at Jerry Zucker Middle School. For the past 15 years, NIWC Atlantic has partnered with Charleston County School District to host the five-day camp, which provides rising fifth- through 12th-grade students the opportunity to learn cyber and STEM skills through hands-on activities and interactions with experts in those fields.
“We strongly believe that early exposure to the content provided in this year's camp will allow students to identify focus areas that will ultimately lead them into the next level of study and eventually into a STEM career they can excel in,” said Zach Storti, NIWC Atlantic STEM Camp co-director. “In order to make this happen, we have brought together some of the best subject matter experts, local businesses, and community organizations who are passionate about making a positive impact on students in the STEM field and to develop them into the next generation of cyber warriors.”
**For media who would like to cover the camp on Thursday, July 9 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., please contact Alex Jackson, NIWC Atlantic media engagement lead, by July 8 at 4:00 p.m. at 854-500-4039.
